Mazen spent the first decade of his career working in the foreign investment and shareholder’s divisions at a leading, regionally operational, regulated financial institution. He then moved on to become a director at a leading private equity firm and was responsible for building strategic business plans, articulating development strategies, negotiating investment terms and development agreements. Mazen is skilled at organizing, coordinating & liaising hard & soft due diligence works.

Mazen worked with a Public Urban development entity where he oversaw the strategic planning of a USD 700 million mixed use tourism destination.

He consulted for a publicly traded poultry processing & marketing company, where he worked closely with the executive management to build the cost structure and helped build the capital budget. He also assessed the financial health of the company during his engagement. Mazen was consulted at the establishment phase of a Mobile Media services company, he aided in building the company’s financial plan and valuation parameters.

Mazen advised the chairman of a regional sovereign fund on the development of an investment processes and investment strategy as well as financing strategies.

Engagements he was involved in, advising at the stakeholder level include devising deal structure and financial strategies for a multimillion real estate commercial project. Financial assessment and valuation for multiple construction material’s factories in Iraq targeting a total investment north of $USD500 million. Review of investment proposals with government state agencies related to Energy and Oil exploration projects and the acquisition of a sizable pharmaceutical production plant.
